Operational Capabilities
Structural Fire Suppression
Advanced structural firefighting capabilities including interior attack, ventilation, and overhaul using NFPA-compliant procedures and SCBA.
Advanced Life Support EMS
Paramedic-level ALS response for cardiac, trauma, and medical emergencies. Three ALS units with 24/7 availability.
Technical Rescue
Vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, high-angle rope rescue, and water rescue capabilities.
Hazardous Materials
HazMat operations response at the awareness and operations level, with county HazMat team on mutual aid.
Wildland Firefighting
Type 6 engine and trained wildland crews for interface and brush fire suppression.
Community Risk Reduction
Fire prevention inspections, public education programs, CPR training, and juvenile fire-setter intervention.
How we respond
Response Protocols
Initial Response
- 1Dispatch receives call via 911 CAD system
- 2Closest available unit(s) dispatched within 60 seconds
- 3First unit on-scene assumes command
- 4IC establishes command post and initiates size-up
EMS Response
- 1Priority 1 (life-threatening): ALS unit + engine response
- 2Priority 2 (non-life-threatening): ALS or BLS unit
- 3Patient assessment, treatment, and transport to receiving facility
- 4Electronic patient care reports completed within 24 hours
Fire Response
- 1Structure fire: 2 engines, 1 ladder, 1 ALS unit minimum
- 2Incident Command System (ICS) established on all structure fires
- 3Accountability and rapid intervention team activated
- 4Overhaul and investigation per SOP
