SAFR Fire & EMS

About the Department

Established in 1987, SAFR has grown from a small volunteer force into a full-service career fire and EMS department serving our region with dedication and professionalism.

Our Mission

The mission of SAFR Fire & EMS is to protect the lives, property, and environment of our community through prevention, preparedness, and professional emergency response. We are committed to delivering compassionate care and rapid, effective intervention in every emergency we encounter.

We serve our community with courage, commitment, and compassion — treating every call as an opportunity to make a difference in someone's life.

Department History

1987 — SAFR was founded as a volunteer department with 12 members and a single engine company operating from one station.

1999 — Transitioned to a combination department, adding full-time career staff while retaining volunteer membership.

2005 — Added Advanced Life Support (ALS) EMS capabilities and expanded to two stations.

2015 — Opened Station 3, expanding coverage to the north district.

Today — 64 active members across 3 stations, responding to over 2,400 calls annually.
